Categories of published manuscripts

• Review article (not exceeding 5000 words, cited references to be limited to about 70-80 in number) should be innovative and comprehensive and focused on current trends of mycobacteriology including basic and applied research.
• Original article (not exceeding 4000 words, cited references to be limited to about 30-40 in number) should address clinical, epidemiological Psycho Social Aspects and experimental issues and fill up the lacunae existing in the knowledge. The information provided in the article should be given under following heads: Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgment and References.
• Case report/ Short Communication opinion article/historical aspects of leprosy, TB related diseases (not exceeding 1500 words, cited references to be limited to about 15-20 in number) should have new information. It should be of special clinical and research significance.
• Letter to the editor (not exceeding 1000 words, cited references to be limited to about 5-10 in number) should be brief, decisive and of clinical/epidemiological importance.
• Activity report (not exceeding 1000 words) should be short and of scientific interest.

Manuscript preparation

Manuscript should be prepared according to the guidelines published by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. For details one can visit the website http://www.icmje.org and download the article “Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts submitted to Biomedical Journals.

The manuscript should be typed in MS Word (Microsoft Office 2007 or Above) using double space and font size 12. The number of pages should be started from title page.

• Title : The title should be brief, self contained and specific.
• Authors name and affiliation : First and middle name of author(s) should be in abbreviated manner followed by surname. Academic degree and affiliations should be indicated clearly. The name of corresponding author with his / her email ID should be clearly mentioned on the first page of the article.
• Running title : It should be very brief and containing not more than 10 words.
• Abstract : It should be restricted to 200 words and should summarize the aims and objective of study, basic procedures, findings and conclusion. It should highlight the importance of the work/ observation and emphasize the future needs in the concerned fields.
• Key words : Not more than five keywords should be indicated.
• Text : It should be divided in Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgments and References. Tables and figures should be referred to in numerical order. All symbols and abbreviations should be defined. Units of measurements should be followed the metric system or International System of Units (SI).
• Illustrations (Figure) : Figures and scanned images should be in JPEG or TIFF or GIF format with a minimum resolution of 800 dpi. Photographs of digital quality should be with a minimum resolution of 200 dpi. Line drawings or vector maps should have a line width of 0.2 mm and colour illustrations should be of 16 bits per channel. Figures legends should be mentioned in the text not in the figure file.
• References : The list of references should be typed in alphabetical order separately. The format for references is as follows :
